At the urging of one of her mentors, Aimee Lala joined SMPS Philadelphia in 2003 in order to learn how to develop business for the regional office she had just opened for her employer at that time. She became more and more active, served on the program planning committee, and eventually joined the Board in 2006 as the membership chair. Over the same time period, Aimee’s professional responsibilities evolved from primarily technical and project management to focus on marketing, business development and client management. In 2008, as she took on the role of communication chair for the Philadelphia chapter ‘s Board, Aimee was also named Director of Marketing for Taylor Wiseman & Taylor (TWT), a regional professional services firm with an unmatched legacy of experience, a role she happily fills today. Within that role and among her many responsibilities, she focuses her efforts on internal communication and training, market sector development, and the firm’s community and charitable activities.

Aimee is also an active member of ULI Philadelphia, where she serves on the Delaware and Urban Marketplace committees, and SAME Philadelphia Post. She is a proud mom and wife who vacations with her family as often as possible.

Ms. Rachel Yoka, CPSM, LEED AP, Marketing Manager, TimHaahs, is responsible for corporate marketing efforts for the firm nationwide. Rachel serves as a parking specialist, providing project management and study services. She conducts research for TimHaahs and selected clients regarding sustainable design and leads the firm’s effort to certify LEED Accredited Professionals. She is active with the SMPS Foundation Think Tank, and contributes to Marketer magazine. Her past experience includes marketing for general contracting and multi-disciplined engineering firms, as well as international marketing to USAID, the Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank. Rachel holds a Bachelor's of Science in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. She resides with her husband Steve and two children, Sofia and Gabriel, in North Wales, PA.

Rose Fetter has been active in SMPS since the early 1990s, and her involvement with the Philadelphia Chapter has grown steadily ever since. She began as a committee member organizing programs, joined the board in 2005 as Treasurer for three consecutive years, served as Chapter President for 2009-2010, and currently serves as Past President.

Rose has worked in the design and construction industry for 20 years. Currently, she is a Marketing Consultant with Fetter Consulting, LLC, and provides marketing advice to A/E/C firms. Rose has extensive experience in state-of-the-art networking, technology infrastructure, and business growth strategies. As an advocate of SMPS, she promotes strategic planning and marketing information for the built environment.

Andrew Katz has been an active member of SMPS since 2002 and has served as Treasurer of the Philadelphia Chapter since 2008.

Andrew has more than 15 years of experience managing the marketing and promotional activities of several companies including a legal publishing company, a professional medical society and a direct marketing firm before entering the A/E/C industry.

Currently, Andrew is the Director of Marketing for O'Donnell & Naccarato, Philadelphias oldest and largest consulting structural engineering firm. O'Donnell & Naccarato also offers parking consultation, facade restoration consulting, claims consulting and program/project management.

As the Director of Marketing for this multi-office consulting engineering firm with offices in Philadelphia, PA, Bethlehem, PA and Washington, DC, Andrew is responsible for managing and overseeing all marketing and communication activities for the firm including requests for proposals and qualifications, public relations, award submissions and newsletters.

Susanne Hanson is Director of Business Development with Simone Collins Landscape Architecture. Susanne is responsible for client development, service and management. Prior to joining SC, Susanne worked in a similar capacity with Wallace Associates, a design build firm, after receiving her degree in Landscape Architecture from Temple University in 2003. Previously, Susanne had been in the Financial Services industry for over 12 years. Her combination of business experience and design education makes her a natural fit for her position.

Susanne currently serves as Secretary on the board.

Raelene has been a member of SMPS since 2008 and got her feet wet in the AEC community in 2003 as a Recruiter and Account Manager at a national staffing agency. Most recently Raelene was employed at Bohler Engineering managing the marketing activities for the Pennsylvania offices.

In addition to serving as the Website Chair for SMPS Philly, Raelene is the Membership Chair for CREW Philadelphia and a Founding Board Member of Down Goes Cancer- The Joe Mak Memorial Foundation. When not marketing, Raelene enjoys spending time with her husband, their twins, Declan and Cassidy and Labs, Buddy and Jack Bauer.

Bill Magee is Business Development Manager for ATC Associates Inc.’s Burlington, New Jersey Branch, having been in sales and business development in the environmental services industry for over 25 years. He joined SMPS Philadelphia Chapter in 2007 and serves on the Board of Directors as Logistics Director. 

Bill is also a member of the Healthcare Facility Managers Association of the Delaware Valley. He attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and served in the U.S. Army as an instructor during the Viet Nam era.

Dorothy has been involved since 1978 as an A/E/C industry marketer. An SMPS member since 1986, she has belonged to five different chapters, was on the boards of four, and is a former president of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter. A speaker at two previous SMPS national conferences, Dorothy also previously chaired the national Public Relations Committee and served as a juror on the Marketing Communications Awards Committee. She is director of marketing and business development for Bruce E. Brooks & Associates, a Center City mechanical/electrical/plumbing engineering firm.

Melissa Rysak currently serves as the Director of Corporate Communications for Pennoni Associates, a multi-discipline engineering, consulting and design firm with 775 employees in 21 offices. She has 7 years of experience in A/E/C Marketing, and worked previously as a Senior Editor for Construction Data News, a lead service for the A/E/C industry. As supervisor of the 7-person Corporate Communications Group, Melissa handles Pennoni’s lead distribution and proposal development efforts, public relations plans, advertising, website and social media, marketing campaigns, and outreach efforts. In addition to the day-to-day supervision and leadership of this multi-disciplined service division, she also has responsibility for maintaining resume and experience data on Pennoni’s employees and the corporate history of both the firm and its projects.

An active member of SMPS for the past two years, Melissa will be serving as the Philadelphia Chapter’s Membership Chair. In addition to working with SMPS, Melissa serves with her husband and son as an Ambassador Family for the March of Dimes. She has also previously volunteered her time to serve as Publicity Director for the Delaware Valley Engineers Week Council, and as such was responsible for community outreach in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties in an effort to gain financial support of the group’s activities as well as educate the community on the importance of the engineering profession.

Mike has been a member of the Philadelphia Chapter of SMPS since 1998. He has served an interim position as Secretary on the Board of Directors, supported numerous program events and served as co-chair during his membership. Currently, he is serving as Sponsorship Chair.

Mike is the Director, Business Development for Klein and Hoffman (K&H).
