Rose Fetter has been active in SMPS since the early 1990s, and her involvement has grown steadily ever since. She began as a committee member, then joined the Board as Treasurer for the Philadelphia Chapter for three years, and is now the current Chapter President for 2009-2010. 

Rose has worked in the design and construction industry for 20 years. Currently, she is a Marketing Consultant with Fetter Consulting, LLC, and provides marketing advice to A/E/C firms. Rose has extensive experience in state-of-the-art networking, technology infrastructure, and business growth strategies. As an advocate of SMPS, she promotes strategic planning and marketing information for the built environment. In addition to her role as consultant, she is also an authorized ArchiCAD reseller for Graphisoft. Building Information Modeling (BIM) brings unique and exciting challenges for design teams, and using ArchiCAD can bring speed, data safety and workflow to your project.

At the urging of one of her mentors, Aimee Lala joined SMPS Philadelphia in 2003 in order to learn how to develop business for the regional office she had just opened for her employer at that time. She became more and more active, served on the program planning committee, and eventually joined the Board in 2006 as the membership chair. Over the same time period, Aimee’s professional responsibilities evolved from primarily technical and project management to focus on marketing, business development and client management. In 2008, as she took on the role of communication chair for the Philadelphia chapter ‘s Board, Aimee was also named Director of Marketing for Taylor Wiseman & Taylor (TWT), a regional professional services firm with an unmatched legacy of experience, a role she happily fills today. Within that role and among her many responsibilities, she focuses her efforts on internal communication and training, market sector development, and the firm’s community and charitable activities.

Aimee is also an active member of ULI Philadelphia, where she serves on the Delaware and Urban Marketplace committees, and SAME Philadelphia Post. She is a proud mom and wife who vacations with her family as often as possible.

Jay Appleton, P.E. has been an active member of SMPS Philadelphia since 2002, and served as Board President in 2008/2009.

A licensed Professional Engineer, Jay has over thirty years of experience in the design and construction industries. He is the Director of Marketing with Kitchen & Associates Architectural Services, PA, a 50-person firm that provides architectural, engineering, planning and interior design services to clients throughout the country. Jay is actively involved with a number of community and industry organizations including the Urban Land Institute, the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, and the Society for College and University Planning. He is a member of the Board of Directors for The Enterprise Center in West Philadelphia.

Andrew Katz has been an active member of SMPS since 2002 and has served as Treasurer of the Philadelphia Chapter since 2008.

Andrew has more than 15 years of experience managing the marketing and promotional activities of several companies including a legal publishing company, a professional medical society and a direct marketing firm before entering the A/E/C industry.

Currently, Andrew is the Director of Marketing for O'Donnell & Naccarato, Philadelphias oldest and largest consulting structural engineering firm. O'Donnell & Naccarato also offers parking consultation, facade restoration consulting, claims consulting and program/project management.

As the Director of Marketing for this multi-office consulting engineering firm with offices in Philadelphia, PA, Bethlehem, PA and Washington, DC, Andrew is responsible for managing and overseeing all marketing and communication activities for the firm including requests for proposals and qualifications, public relations, award submissions and newsletters.

Linda was most recently the Director of Project Development Services at Strategic Planning Initiatives (SPI Advisors). She is an accomplished professional with over 20 years experience in both the private and public sectors. Linda is an active member of SMPS since the late 90’s serving as Secretary and Program Chair for various programs. She has developed strategic plans based on organizational needs to penetrate target markets and has proven leadership qualities that drive projects to timely and economical outcomes. 

While Linda’s early professional years built upon her extensive knowledge of the Architectural, Engineering and Construction service industry coupled with innovative ideas for creating new project opportunities and enhancing internal marketing organizational productivity, she continues to drive efforts for multiple client relationships with new concepts for advancing projects from initiation through execution. Linda is presently acting as an independent consultant and pursuing new professional opportunities.

Adrienne Fessler has been actively involved with the Philadelphia Chapter of SMPS since the beginning of her membership in early 2006. Since then, she has also served on the Board of Directors first as Sponsorship Chair and most recently as Website Chair.

Adrienne is the Communication Coordinator for Timothy Haahs & Associates, Inc. (TimHaahs). She is responsible for the PR efforts for TimHaahs’ four offices located in Miami, Atlanta, New Brunswick, and Philadelphia (Blue Bell). Adrienne contributes to planning company events, marketing pieces, corporate newsletters, and press releases. She is also an active member of the Pennsylvania Parking Association and the New York State Parking Association, assisting both organizations with marketing efforts and conference planning.

TimHaahs is a multi-disciplined engineering and architectural firm that specializes in the planning, design, and restoration of mixed-use parking structures.

Bill Magee is Business Development Manager for ATC Associates Inc.’s Burlington, New Jersey Branch, having been in sales and business development in the environmental services industry for over 25 years. He joined SMPS Philadelphia Chapter in 2007 and serves on the Board of Directors as Logistics Director. 

Bill is also a member of the Healthcare Facility Managers Association of the Delaware Valley. He attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and served in the U.S. Army as an instructor during the Viet Nam era.

Stacy Barrett began her involvement with the SMPS Philadelphia Chapter as a committee member in 2004 and has served on the Board of Directors as Public Relations Chair since 2005.

Stacy has performed marketing services for the design and construction industry for over 11 years, overseeing all aspects of communications and public relations including requests for proposals/qualifications, marketing materials, presentations, press releases, award submissions, website and intranet content, and newsletters. Currently, Stacy is a Proposal Manager for Hill International, Inc., a leading international construction consulting firm with 80 offices in 35 countries worldwide. Stacy is responsible for producing competitive proposals and presentations for the New Jersey Region. She manages quality assurance and database maintenance and serves as a professional development mentor.

Amy Izzo has been a member of SMPS since 2002 and has served as Membership Chair from 2008-present.

 

Amy is Director of Marketing for The Harman Group, a structural engineering firm based in King of Prussia, PA. She has performed marketing services for the design and construction industry for over 10 years. She is responsible for all marketing efforts for a 35-person firm.

 

Since 1984 The Harman Group has provided structural engineering services to architects and owners across a broad range of industries, and has significant experience in large and complex mixed-use projects. With offices in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and Las Vegas, Nevada, the firm compliments its structural engineering services with an in-house parking facility consulting division. The Harman Group was named as one of the Top 25 Engineering firms in the Philadelphia area by the Philadelphia Business Journal in June 2009.

Susanne Hanson is Director of Business Development with Simone Collins Landscape Architecture. Susanne is responsible for client development, service and management. Prior to joining SC, Susanne worked in a similar capacity with Wallace Associates, a design build firm, after receiving her degree in Landscape Architecture from Temple University in 2003. Previously, Susanne had been in the Financial Services industry for over 12 years. Her combination of business experience and design education makes her a natural fit for her position.

Susanne currently serves as Communication Chair on the board.

Richard currently serves as the Education Chair for SMPS Philadelphia.

Richard has an extensive background in airport new business development, management, operations, and marketing. His 25-year career has included positions as Director of Corporate Development for Urban Engineers, Inc., Senior Project manager for Edwards & Kelcey, Deputy Director of Airports for the Delaware River and Bay Authority, General Manager for Elmira/Corning Regional Airport, and Manager of Technical Services for Airport Council International/North America. His first hand experience with managing, developing, and marketing airports provides a “true” operators approach and understanding to specific airport planning tasks, such as airport facilities development, community involvement, air service development, strategic action plans and local government coordination. He has co produced nine air shows that generated over $1 million in funding for local charitable organizations. Also to his credit, he was instrumental in developing the 5K Runway Fun Run, Longest Golf Ball Drive, July 4th Ride for Pride, July 4th fireworks events that were held on the airport.

He currently serves as a Director of Corporate Development for Urban Engineers, Inc. in Hartford, Connecticut and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Richard is a licensed commercial pilot, single and multi-engine land instrument with time in B-17, B-25, L-39, T-6, Beech 18, and Piper aircraft. He was an Olympic Torch Runner during the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Mike has been a member of the Philadelphia Chapter of SMPS since 1998. He has served an interim position as Secretary on the Board of Directors, supported numerous program events and served as co-chair during his membership. Currently, he is serving as Sponsorship Chair.

Mike is the Director, Business Development for Klein and Hoffman (K&H). He identifies and pursues active market sectors in geographic regions that support the firm’s specialized structural and restoration engineering services. As Teaming Strategist, he works with Principal staff, group leaders and project managers to actively pursue professional relationships with A/E/C firms that offer the best advantage for K&H’s Philadelphia/New York office to target proposals and be awarded projects. Mike is also responsible for the development of proposals and statements of qualifications throughout the Northeast region and firm-wide on an as needed basis. As Planning Strategist, he is responsible for developing the annual business development and marketing plan which identifies and tracks active market segments that promote the firm’s professional services.
